Q: Do I need a permit to install a parklet?

A: Yes, you will need to organise a permit to install a parklet and serve patrons outside of your venue.

Q: Are there grants available to help pay for the cost associated with trading outdoors?

A: Yes, the $58 million Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package business grants help businesses adapt their operations to outdoor dining. Grants are available to licensed and unlicensed hospitality businesses, including restaurants, cafes, pubs/taverns, bars, clubs and takeaway food venues.

Eligible businesses can apply for a grant of $5,000. Funds can be used to pay for practical things like umbrellas, outdoor furniture, screens and other equipment. This will help move the indoor dining and cafe experiences Victorians love, outdoors. Find Out More.

Q: What information do i need to organise a parklet?

A: You will need a number of things to successfully and quickly organise your parklet.  Some of the more important things to have at hand are;

  •  Your permit and / or full list of council requirements for outdoor trading (this will include clearances to traffic and pedestrians, rules around steps and trip hazards (including their elimination) 
  • Full list of existing infrastructure including and clearance rules (eg: fire hydrants, bus stops etc)
  • Accurate measurements (within 10mm) of the space to be used including any elevation changes (ie: how much drop if going onto a road)
  • Photos of the proposed site
  • Information on any delivery / installation requirements (ie: installation only after business hours etc)

Q: Are your parklets weather proof?

A: Yes, all materials used are designed for outdoor use. All timber used is treated pine or hardwood with all plywood being marine ply and formply, both design for use in wet environments.

Q: Are your parklets designed to be reused?

A: Yes, we have designed our parklets to be installed and removed easily so you can simply store and reuse your parklet each year.  While there may be some repairs and maintenance necessary depending on the circumstances, in general you should be able to get several years of summer use from your parklet investment, if it is cared for correctly.

Q: Do your parklets meet the government covid safe guidelines?

A: Yes, we have worked closely with the government to ensure we understand outdoor dining requirements and rules and our designs meet these.  More information on these requirements can be found HERE

Q: How much will a parklet cost?

A: A basic parklet to fit around 10 people will start around $3500 and go up from there depending on size and finish.  Our modular system is available for DIY install and pickup to reduce costs as well.  Ask us about this when getting your quote.

Q: Can i design my own parklet from scratch?

A: Yes, we can provide a custom solution for you if there is a idea you have in mind.  Click HERE for more information.

Q: Do you offer delivery?

A: Yes, we can deliver all products anywhere within Victoria.  Due to the huge variance in size and weights of products being ordered, please contact us to arrange a quote for delivery directly to you.

Q: Can i pick up my items directly from you?

A: Yes, we offer covid safe pick up directly from our factory in Melton, Victoria.

Q: How do i get my parklet installed onsite?

A: We offer a full onsite installation service that can be quoted for with the parklet elements themselves.  You are also more than welcome to tackle the install yourself, which can be easily completed with some basic building knowledge and tools.
